Lorien Harps

Raphael 26 Therapy Harp in Stock - Walnut

The Raphael 26 Therapy Harp is designed specifically for the work of bringing healing harp music to those in hospitals and nursing homes, and for vigils at the bedside of the dying. It has a warm, resonant tone but is not overpowering when used in a close setting with a patient. It is lightweight (about 8 lbs) and can easily be transported, an important consideration for the harpist. The neck reinforcement is added for both strength and to give the harp a sculptural feel, adding to its soft curves and rounded edges.

The Raphael has a beautiful bell like tone.  I added the locking strap, rather than the guitar button strap that is less safe to use.

The lowest note is C below Middle C and the lowest octave has wound nylon strings.  Because it is large for a lap harp we offer an adjustable hardwood lap bar that secures in one of the back openings and rests across the thighs. NOTE: The Raphael 26 is not guaranteed to fit in the overhead compartment of an airplane.

The Sasha 22 Travel/Lap Harp is designed to fit in the overhead compartment of an airplane. A perfect travel harp! It is lightweight and portable, and is made with care to bring you the best in craftsmanship and tone quality.

The Sasha has a beautiful bell like tone.

I added the locking strap rather than the guitar button strap that is less safe to use.

The range is three octaves from F to F‘, with full concert spacing. It is a perfect initial harp for those not yet ready for a larger floor harp, and will continue to serve as a travel or lap harp once the beginner progresses to a larger harp.

Lorien 30 Harp available by order

The Lorien 30 harp was designed as an economical floor model harp that has easier to play strings, and carries a beautiful sound. The range is from F, one and a half octaves below Middle C, up to a High G, just over 4 octaves. It has a rich, resonate tone and uses wound nylon strings in the lower notes.

The Lorien has a lovely warm bell like tone.  I use this harp for therapy since it goes down to the F, most harps only go to the G.  Plus this harp is very light and easy to move.

The Lorien 30 is sold with a case, removable stand, and Loveland levers on C and F strings.  Truitt levers are installed for an additional amount.

The Lorien 30 harp is recommended by many harp teachers for their students.

Harps of Lorien is a co-operative business with a mission to provide quality hand-crafted instruments for healing. These instruments are made with great care and attention to detail. It is in this way that the beauty and grain of the wood comes alive and finds its voice. Each is unique and made to be carried forth into the world by those who choose to make beautiful music. Every instrument leaves with a blessing.

These instruments are blessed and prayed over in the making, sanding, and finishing. It is in this phase that the beauty and grain of the wood comes alive and finds its voice; and are inscribed with mantras and prayers for peace. I have found these harps to have a superb tone as well as beautiful wood graining, finish, and design.

We are a small cottage industry located in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains of Northern New Mexico. The magnificent sunsets, the wooded mountain slopes, and the natural beauty of the environment form an inspiring, creative backdrop for the making of harps and other musical instruments, and a vision of peace and community.

The therapy line of harps are designed to be lightweight and economical. They offer excellent tone for use in therapy work and also serve as entry level harps for beginners or for those seeking a less expensive harp. Many harp teachers are recommending these harps for their students and more and more harpists working in hospitals and hospices are using these harps.
